Obi and the Dog Park

I always get VERY jealous when you guys, my lovely readers, post pics and stories about your local dog parks. Parks with luscious green grass and fun agility equipment.

Our local dog park is... bleak, and that's putting it nicely!

There's no grass, it's full of dust and weeds and BURRS.

The bin is always over flowing...

And the equipment just hasn't been maintained.

We were so disappointed when we went there on Sunday that my peep is thinking about writing to our local council to complain.

On the plus side, the reason we went to the park is that one of her friends wanted to introduce us to their doggy.

This is Obi, he's a beagle. Doesn't he look like a nice boy!

Floyd and I had a great time playing with him...

He got a bit over our puppy enthusiasm and tried to take refuge on the equipment at one point...

But we soon shooed him down!

It was a fun outing and I even got in some sniffing and pats.

Hope you all had a great weekend and got in some sniffing, pats and play time!

  1. Well, I'm sorry that you have a bit of a rough doggie park, but it looks like you had an awesome time playing with Obi!! I think that your Mom should write and complain and get other puppy parents involved...that often works over with us! :-D

  4. A couple of our dog parks are like that....especially the burrs. But the bin is never overflowing because some owners still do not clean up!

But anywhere where you meet friends to play is good.

  5. This makes me sad about your doggie parks. Y'all come see Us and We'll take you to Our favorite places. What's the sense in having a dog park if you can't enjoy it???? GRRrrrrrr.

  7. Gosh, after seeing that doggie park it makes me appreciate what we do have. I usually get more disgusted with the piles of poop that the people pretend like their dog didn't do. We very seldom go. The other dogs are not very nice to Blueberry and it just isn't worth it! Maybe you could get others to help out in fixing up the park!

  11. It's good there is a place were you can let your leashes off and run amok. Here, we have few dog parks and they don't allow dogs at the beach - bummer. I take my pups to the school field and if nobody's around I will let them run.

    1. Yeah, some people around he go to the big soccer fields instead of the dog parks... If they get caught though, they can get fined.

  12. Greeings oh fellow doggies. For some reason, best known only to Worldpress all your very kind comments on our blog have been rendered to spam. Mummy only discovered this today. She is not very technically minded and never thought to look in the spam place. So, please accept our apologies. Love Nellie and Jasper.

  13. Too bad about your local dog park and you should definitely try to contact your town. Still, it looks like Dougall had quite a good time anyway :-)
