Brief Respite

Well, the weather has provided us with a (very) brief break from the heat and fire. The thermometer only got to 27 Celsius (80 F) yesterday and 33 (91 F) today. We made the best of the conditions.

We FINALLY got to go for a walk! Because of the heat and general ickiness we hadn't been allowed to go on walkies. Floyd had MAJOR cabin fever (he'd been running up and down the hall way like a lune!) We both had a great time, and got and extra long walk.

Look who we saw, Mr Kookaburra! My peep's mum says that seeing a Kooka is a sign of rain. But sadly, we don't think this guy brought any rain with him...

Nanny took the chance to water her pot plants which meant that Uncle Fergus (who was visiting her) got to partake in his favourite activity...

Drinking the water that runs out the bottom of the pots... Slurp!!

Sadly, this cool change is not going to last. And the weather mad said it is going to be hot and windy again tomorrow.

There are still over 100 fires burning in New South Wales, and many of those are still burning out of control. We hope things don't get at bad as the other day.

Floyd, my peeps and I would like to send our thoughts and best wishes to all those in Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales who have been affected by fire. Who have lost their homes or been injured. We are also very sad about the 10,000 farm animals that have been killed by the fires here in NSW... : (

  1. Hey Buddy! How are you! We missed you these days.

Well, if you want rain... you might want to practice on that dougall dog dance you posted last year.

  2. Fergus has it right. The pot soil filters out the bad impurities and imparts vital minerals. I still think you should ask for our "firies"-they don't do much in the winter and we get some good fires in the summer.

We are thinking of you guys and sending good thoughts your way. Glad you guys got a walkie. Hang in there and I think Kyla's right, our firies could help - they fight lots of wildfires out here.

  4. We can only imagine how hot & bothered you two must be. We've had a couple of scorchers here too the past couple of days but no fires and peaking at around 36 - 38C
