Floydie and I met Alex on Friday night, we had to wait that long because of his shots, to make sure he's protected from anything naughty that might make him sick.
The peeps took us both over to his house on Friday night to meet him, we were both VERY excited (and so was little Alex). We gave him a good sniff...
The peep said I was being a really good boy! She said she was really proud of how nice and gently I was with little Alex, Floyd on the other paw...
He was a bit silly, he really liked Alex and really wanted to play with him, but he was being too rough. He kept bowling him over and boxing at him, making him yelp. I know Floyd doesn't mean to be rough, he just doesn't understand that he's so much bigger than baby Alex.
So the peeps decided to take us both home. They said that I could come back the next day, but that Floyd would have to wait until Alex was a bit bigger before he gets to see him again.
So after lunch on Saturday, the peep harnessed me up and off we walked to Alex's house and I started Alex's lessons...
I took him all around his yard and showed him how to sniff everything and how to leave proper peemail.
The peep said I can go back to see him again next weekend, and I'm hoping of picking up on our lesson again.
What do you think are the most important things I should work on him with?
Digging and bossing his peeps around.
ReplyDeleteHe certainly was excited during his lessons. Such a cute little fellow.

OMD he is so cute. Hmm Dougall we think it should be squirrel hunting and digging. We can't wait to see more of pup class. Have a serene Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Oh Squeeeeeeel Alex is so cute and that video, he is so full of beans. I want one :) xx00xxx
ReplyDeleteMollie and Alfie
OH SO MANY THINGS - digging is a mani one fur sure! You are being a great big cousin!
ReplyDeletePlaying is a big part of learning...you have to teach him how to look cute so all the peeps will eeewww and ahhhh and give him treats. Most important lesson is to teach him how to train his peeps...while making them think they are training him!
ReplyDeleteYou're goin have your paws full teachin Alex. You'll have to teach him to follow your lead and to look cute when he gets blamed for all the stuff dat you do. Oh… table snatchin is very important too.
ReplyDeleteHave fun.
Wags,
Ranger
Yup, wrapping his peeps around his paw and controlling them is first. Then you get treats and good food. If you're not well fed, then nothing is right. If you have a full belly, then you can concentrate on the other stuff.
ReplyDeleteOMD Alex is sooooooo cute... And you will be a tree men dus teacher fur him.
ReplyDeleteWe think HOLE DIGGING and Rolling and Roaching are VERY impawtant lessons.
You look very handsome today. I wish you could come and live with me because I am missing my brother Dougal something terrible. But the Food lady says they will get a friend for me soon. Then I will use some of your tips for teaching puppies how to be good scotties.
ReplyDeleteYou look like a great teacher! He needs to learn how to do the Scottie sit so he can get treats. Oh, and the sad eyes, also for getting treats. Plus how to get a belly rub - very important.

First you must teach him how to give his peeps that look that will make them give him everything he wants. Then maybe some fun stuffs like wrestling and chase.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
You have a very important job!!! Have you shared the secret yet that it is really about training the peeps not training the pup!!
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap, does that pup have an off button????? Geesh, I thoughts I was 'alot'!!! BOL
ReplyDeleteAnyhu, I thinks you need to teach him to chase tree rats and to train his peeps. As everyone else has pointed out, trainin' the peeps is job #1 on the puppy-to-do-list!!
Oh, and tell Floydie that I'll be overs to play with him...it'll be more of a fair fight!! BOL
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
You will be the most excellent teacher for Alex, Dougall. Have you taught him how to dig yet? That always comes in handy!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
We think teaching him not to eat the heads off of stuffies.
ReplyDeleteis very important.

ReplyDeleteEdgar and his mum
Awwwww, he is so cute!! That is a very impawtent job too! I am sure that you will do the best ever at it too!!!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
You could teach him how to brace himself better for Floyd's lovins!
ReplyDeleteDougall, you are such a good teacher xxx
ReplyDeleteYou have awesome mentoring abilities, Dougall!

Aw Dougall, it looks like you've got a tiny little shadow following you! On the subject of training, digging for sure is a good one. Another is to find the muddiest puddle and walk through it, or to get right under the bushes and come out looking like part of the foliage! Boy .... you've got your work cut out for you, but I'm sure you'll have fun!
