Poor Floydie...

When the peeps came home from work today Floydie was being weird... He kept chasing his tail and wouldn't let the peeps touch his back end...

They kept an eye on him all night, but he got worse, he wouldn't sit down, he just stood in the middle of the room not playing or jumping or ANYTHING!!

This got the peeps really worried, because... Well... The only time he's ever still is when he's asleep!

They decided to take him to the night dogtor. The night dogtor thought maybe his scent gland was blocked, but it was fine. They tried poking him in a few places, but noticed that his tail was all... limp and when they touched it he yelped... Poor Floydie.

They think he might have broken his poor tail! They're hoping it's just a strain, and that it will get better by itself, but if it isn't better in the next few days he has to go back for an x-ray...

Meanwhile... They gave him drugs for the pain, and well... He's acting like, a bit "slow"...

Look at him... Just standing around... Looking sad...

He started falling asleep while he was standing up, so they took him to his bed and tried to get him to go to sleep. They even put his foot on the bed... But he just stood there... Looking sad and confused...

(peep swears she doesn't really sound like that... BOL)

We hope Floydie feels better in the morning.

Speaking of dogtors and morning... I'm going in to the dogtor's tomorrow for my op... I'm being a brave boy, I'm not worried at all. The peep is doing all the worrying for the two of us... Poor thing. And it's her barkday (do peep have barkdays?) tomorrow too...

  4. Aww, poor Floyd. Our Audi was on pain meds once and he was exactly the same. So dazed and confused.

We hope it's just a sprained tail and that it'll get better on its own!

  7. Tail breaks are very common in boxers and breeds that have long thick muscular tails mainly because when they wag - they thwap it. Do you know Corbin? he had that problem he would thwap his tail so hard it would bleed everywhere and they ended up having to a bit of tail removed because of infection. Hopefully Floydie feels better soon

  8. Floyd isn't slow, he's immobile. Pretty soon the pigeons will start perching on the Floyd statue and you'll have a mess in your home.

I hope that he feels better really quickly, cause there can't be two of you who are feeling icky at the same time! Take care tomorrow Dougall!! Thinking about you man! 21. Oh you poor boys! I hope Floyd's tail heals up. My friends lab had a broken tail and they had to take some of it off. He has no problem wagging what's left and the added benefit is he doesn't wack the walls when he wags - that's how he broke it. He was so happy to see his peep come home! Dougall you will be fine. Yes. You. Will. Happy Birthday to the peep and you love her up extra ok?

  23. OMD...where do we begin?

First off, awwwww Floyd buddy. How did you hurt your tail like that? You poor thing. We hope that it is just a strain & that you feel better soon. We hate seeing you look like that.

Dougall buddy, we have been praying for you and will keep our paws crossed the whole of today. You are being so brave about all this.

Finally, a very Happy Birth/Barkday to your mom - we know that today is going to be particularly stressful but we hope that you have a good day nonetheless.

  27. Awwwww..... Poor Floyd! This happens quite a lot with greyhounds, who have, shall we say, enthusiastic tails. I do sympathise with you, and hope the painkillers enabled you to get a god sleep...

Thinking of you and Dougall - and happy birthday to your Peep! :-)
