While I have been well Floyd has woken the
family up two nights this week with the erks.
The first time he woke us all up at 4 o’clock
in the morning and threw up a large lump of unchewed food... What a silly dawg!
He inhales his food SO quickly that he forgets to chew and makes himself sick!
Again at 4 o’clock the next night he was
erking and erking and eventually threw up something black and rough. The humans
had a closer look and found out it was a piece of the doormat from the back
door which was mysteriously found in several pieces that afternoon.
You can imagine how impressed we all were,
to be woken in the middle of the night because Floyd was silly enough to try
and find out what the doormat tasted like!!
From the result I guess it didn’t taste too
good...
On a serious note, Floyd is actually lucky
he was able to bring it back up and that it didn’t get stuck inside him
somewhere and cause a blockage; silly boy.
We would have been very upset had he made himself seriously sick <3 |
Also, our palls Susie and Sidebite have
asked us to pass on a warning to all the doggies and doggie owners out there.
Poor Bites was sick with Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis and was luckily taken to
the dogster in time or there could have been a very sad ending to his story.
The symptoms for Hemorrhagic
Gastroenteritis are profuse vomiting, followed by depression and bloody diarrhoea
with a foul order; if you know a pup who is suffering from these they need
medical attention quick smart! Don’t muck around get them to the vet!
On that note I hope you are all well and stay that way so you can enjoy your weekend.
Waggles and woofs from a cartoon Dougall!
I bet you are all really tired! Floyd man, door mats don't taste nice! You could of made yourself seriously ill. Love the cartoon picture Dougall.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. :)
Mollie and Alfie ( new to the blog) x
I hope he gets that now. The humans have decided to buy a sturdier doormat to prevent further... eating...
DeleteOooh that sounds nasty mate. Hope your mate is okay. Deccy x
ReplyDeleteHe's fine, his normal silly self!
DeleteHi Dougall
ReplyDeleteI think that Floyd and my Ernie are a lot alike. Ernie will eat... anythingy. I just don't get it myself. Give me SNACKS any day..
Thank goodness Sidebites got help quickly. THAT was very scary.
I hear ya Frankie!
DeleteNote to self: Leave the floor mats alone. bol Glad that he is ok now.
ReplyDeletewags
Jazzi
C'mon Jazzi, you're not the random object eating sort of gal are you? I thought Scotties were more discerning than that?
DeleteThose are great reminders--Socks don't taste that great either, they may smell good, but they are not a tasty treat!! :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!!
I agree, socks are great! Any human leaves one laying around and they're fair game as far as I am concerned!
DeleteBut I don't actually eat them! They're just for chewing and playing tug 'o war!
I understand the eating too fast and paying for it but a doormat? They can't possibly taste like licorice, can they?! We're glad you're okay, Floyd!
ReplyDeleteWe love the cartooned you, Dougall!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
I ask Floyd about the flavour, he reckons tyre with slight hints of foot and dust... Not my style... :P
DeleteWe're so happy Floyd was able to chuck up that mat.
ReplyDeleteWe read about Sidebite, it was something we didn't know about.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Love the cartoon.
Glad to be getting the word around about the dangerous side of the erks!
DeleteA doormat. That's a good one. Of course it wasn't you Dougall. Somehow you terriers seem to know not to eat this stuff. Mr. Fox - part chihuahua and part crazy eats it ALL. Napkins, socks, wrappers of granola bars, crayons, plastic lego toys, the stuffing out of dog toys after he's eaten part of the toy, sneakers, socks and I could keep going. He hasn't eaten a floor mat yet. He actually eats these things, you know EATS the sock! I sure am glad Floyd brought that chunk of doormat up because it wouldn't be a pleasant trip to the dogter for him or the humans and you would be lonely while he was there. I will stop going on and on now!
ReplyDeleteAlyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
My human had been seeing dogter bills in front of her eyes!
DeleteBoy do I know what your talking about. Two times now I have had to get my tummy opened up and stuff removed. I am so glad your came back up the easy way.
ReplyDeleteLove
Bert
Hi Dougall,
ReplyDeleteThank goodness Floyd is alright and actually "erked" up that mat! There must have been something tasting good on that mat to entice Floyd, no? Because rubber like that doesn't even smell nice!
It seems like Scribble isn't the only silly boxer around! Scribble is our boxer cousin we see almost weekely, who we will be introducing soon on our blog- Mama is so disorganized!
Your bearded pals, Joules & Prescott
Oh wow! I can't wait to meet Scribble!
DeleteThe dreaded erkies!!!! HOPE EVERYONE FEELS BETTER! Time for treats...
ReplyDeleteEveryone is all good in our house!
