It went okay for me, not great but maybe a tiny bit better than last week... Maybe?
Again, like the first lesson, I was stressed out by the number of doggies there and wasn't able to be calm enough to work with the group so I had to work away from them.
I started off a short distance away while I was practising "sit" with my human, but there was a man there (wearing a yellow shirt) with a German Shepherd. He kept moving his dog closer and closer to me... Which kept stressing me out... So, to help me calm down we had to keep moving further away....
By the end of the night we were nearly on the other side of the freakin' oval!! (Sorry, but my human and I were REALLY annoyed with this "Yellow-Shirt" man....)
Because of all the moving and stress, we weren't able to take any photos, which sucks.
Also, we missed all of the instructions on "down" (laying down) because "Yellow-Shirt" had pushed us so far away from the group that we couldn't hear the instructor... grrr!!
We were still able to work on "sit", and we started on "come" and walking on a loose lead (so the humans don't end up with their arms pulled out of their sockets).
While everyone else was doing "down" my human and I decided to try "up" (sitting up like a Scottie, doing "nice begs" or "Scottie stands"). Which I started to master, until "Yellow-Shirt" edged closer again and scared me...
Practicing "up" at home |
Sigh... Hopefully things will improve a bit more next week...
If we have any more troubles with this "Yellow-Shirt" man, I might just lose it and rip that yellow shirt right off him... Just sayin'...

I would also like to thank my lovely readers for helping me to reach 3000 page views!! I loves you lots!!
So cute!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for 'yellow shirt man'.... GET HIM!!! Ahahahaha! Oh, I kid Dougall, but you can dream...
Alyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
Yes... Dream...
DeleteDougall you appear to have the Scottie Stand down-pat...uhm up-pat? Oh dear...now I am confused but the point of the story is:WELL DONE YOU!! Sorry to hear of your frustration with Mr Yellow-Shirt some hoomans can be very inconsiderate. Perhaps you can ask your hooman to have a word with him at your next lesson.
ReplyDeleteW & S
It was hard for her to have a word with him when I was barking like a maniac... BOL!! We will have to try that next time!
DeleteAw if it were me in your position, I'd be really annoyed too!! How did Floyd do?
ReplyDeleteGood job on the "up" trick!
Woofs
Cotton
He did fine. He doesn't get as anxious as I do, he gets excited and bounces around and does back flips... BOL!!
DeleteDougall we can just picture Mr. Yellow Shirt, shirtless. Have a terrific Thursday and we look forward to your next class.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Mr Yellow Shirt had a rather... Rotund hpysique... I don't think I would reccomend picturing him shirtless... BOL!!
DeleteYou are lookin' good. Bella and I don't sit up like that...but our old girl Kendra did that naturally.
ReplyDeleteMr. Yellow Shirt needs his ankle bitten....just sayin'
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
My uncle Fergus does it naturally too, I have a few times (before they started teaching me how to do it on command).
DeleteAnkle bitin'... Sounds good!!
Yellow-shirt man was being so rude. He had to have known that you needed your space, Dougall!
ReplyDeleteYou look so adorable sitting up for your treat!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
You think he would have gotten my hints... I was making them pretty loundly!! (Not to mention the dirty looks my human was sending his way... and the rude words she might have been muttering in his general direction...)
DeleteThe Yellow-shirt man is only trying to do his job....you are a fast learner, my friend....you will have NO problem at all!
ReplyDeleteHis job? Make me feel anxious?
DeleteWell you're just going to have to use your intelligence. You're a Scottie and smarter than a GS. Your human got a Scottie and is smarter than yellow shirt who got a GS. Put your heads together.
ReplyDeleteFloyd and I could join forces and invade his pawsonal space??
DeleteI would have been annoyed with yella shirt man too. Good grief. I wonder why the trainer didn't call out YSM and tell him you were there to train too and you needed your space. I wonder about humans sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYou look very cute in that picture!
Thanks... Homes can be silly...
DeleteGee Dougall, I can't imagine where the INSTRUCTOR was during the Yellow Shirt .. Invasion (of your pawsonal space)!!! THAT should be Discussed with the Instructor... before the next class starts. YOU have Rights. I'm just sayin.
ReplyDeleteYou're right Frankie!! If only I had been level headed enough to think of that on Tuesday... Will give it a go next week!
DeleteDougall, quit barking, just go and bite him, then grin nicely and walk slowly away!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Furends
Susie & Bites
BOL!! I like your plan!
DeleteWe know other dogs that will help you with that yellow shirt, just let us know!!
ReplyDeleteLessons are hard, but they do get easier and you'll get lots better too!!
Enjoy your Thursday!!!
Thanks... I might take you up on your offer...
DeleteLook at you doing that great Scottie Sit!!!! You're learning alot despite that yellow shirted windbag. Geesh. I am proud of you for even staying in the room. German Shepherds totally freak me out and I would have been OUT OF THERE after their first move in my direction. Keep up the good work, Buddy!
ReplyDeleteHaha... You wouldn't have like it at all then, there are FOUR German Shepherds in my class... FOUR!!
DeleteYup, I use to bark at peeps when they would get in my space. It took a while, and lots of treaties to get me to know that strangers are great as long as they have treats!!! You'll be great next time Dougall, I know it! I am sooo impressed at your sit-up! Ma just can't get me to do it! I don't have very good balance, I guess.
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby
Thanks for the support Ruby, I hope I get better.
DeleteI might have an advantage over you with the sit up trick... As a Scottie, I'm naturally lower to the ground and don't have to sit us as high... BOL!!
Dougall, I am so impressed at your control. I would have totally attacked that sassy yellow shirt guy. I am glad you learned some things. I hope next time is better. Did that man have a monkey named George with him? Just wondering.
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
Haha... No, and I didn't find out what his dog's name was.
DeleteThat German Shepard was a good distraction to test you! Good job!
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess I failed...
DeleteOh, poor Dougall! Don't worry, though - at least Mr Yellowshirt is unknowingly training you to be able to cope with anything! I'm sure you'll get there in the end.
ReplyDeleteBig WOOFS from Solo :-)
Hmm, I guess...
Delete"UP"? That is Pawsome. I haven't learned "UP" yet. I'll have to try that one. You look so cool doing the "UP".
ReplyDeleteMom says that next week you need to ask your human to wear a Red shirt. Red is intimating and might scare yellow shirt guy away. Hummmm… maybe I should get a Red collar.
Your mum might have an idea there...
