Back from the Dogtor...

So, on Saturday I was mindin' my own business, just roachin' around in the lounge room...

...when my human noticed a bit of a rash on the inside of one of my legs.

It looks sore and red but to be honest I didn't even notice it was there!

She took me off to the dogtor any way, 'cos she didn't like the look of it, and said that us Scottie are prone to skin issues and wanted to get on top of it so it didn't get worse.

This is where I go, it's a normal dogtor's place where you can go when you're not feeling your best, but they also teach humans to be vetties.

Here I am at the dogtor's, waiting for them to come check me out and weigh me and stuff...

I was seen by two lovely vetties, one supervising and a young man in training. He was pretty good, looked me over, checked my teeth and all the usual stuff.

Then they had to roll me on to my back to check out the rash... I wasn't too impressed with this, but he was an okay guy, kept giving me belly rubs and stuff so I eventually gave in.

He looked at the rash, said it didn't look too suspicious and gave them a cream to put on it. It should go away, but we have to keep an eye on it, just in case it is the start of an allergy.

The vetties both loved me (not that I'm surprised... who doesn't love me?) they kept saying how good natured I was and how calm and friendly I seemed (they were shocked when she mentioned how opposite I am at dog school... bol!)

Now... Down to the fun guessing game business, what's the winning, number... what do I weigh??

*drum roll...*

10.9 kgs (or 24 pounds)

Oh dear... I think that might be a bit high for a 6 month old pup... Oops... Might need to head out for a few more walkies...

On a positive note, this means our guessing competition winners are.... STELLA and RORY!!

Stella and Rory from Down Under guessed 9.5 kgs (about 21 pounds)

Well done! You canny guessing has won you both this lovely (and tasty) prize pack...

An edible (raw hide) doggy greeting card
Some Roo Bites (yum!) and
A tiger stuffie

If you could kindly email me your address and details to dougall(dot)the(dot)scottie(at)gmail(dot)com I'll post it to you ASAP

Thanks to everyone who pawticipated, some of your responses were very flattering!

  2. Glad to hear the visit went well and that your rash isn't anything serious. As for your weight, our dad reckons wheaten's are meant to be a "little bigger"...I think he may just say that to make me feel better 'cos I am so much bigger than Sammy but I'll take it.

  3. Congratulations to the Down and Under pack!

Hey Dougall, those rashes are pretty scary. Yesterday, Buchi has a large red lump between his toesies and I panicked. My beau told me that it was just going to go away. Still, I panicked. Fortunately, it went away.

    1. There are so many grasses, how would I know which one caused it?!

  7. So they gave you a cream without knowing what the rash is or what caused it?

    1. They said it looked like something... (vet talk) and that it shouldn't be too serious, but to keep an eye on it...
