Cleaning up

Many of you, my lovely readers, commented on how dirty I got while gardening last weekend.

Well, while I didn't mind the muck, the peeps (once they had a good giggle) didn't like the idea of me getting around the house in the state I was in. Luckily, they had just bought Floyd and I a new toy for summer.

We had a little taste of summer last week, so when my peeps were shopping on the weekend they bought Floyd and I a little something to keep us cool...

And, after seeing how dirty I'd gotten (while helping them, I might add) they decided it would be the perfect time to try it out.

Hmmm.... Look at the colour of that water... I wonder what that is all about... BOL!!

Floyd wasn't really interested in the pool that much (except for when they were filling it up with the hose, he liked that bit).

I, on the other paw, took to our blue pool like a duck to well... water!!

Oh... By the way... Despite my pleading, I still got a bath after the swim...

  4. Howdy Dougall and Floyd, love your new pool. We HAD one the same until SOMEBODY stood on the lid! Now we are waiting for another. Dougall mate, we read your last post and the last photo is a total crack up. Thanks for the smile this morning. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory P.S. sure was a lot of dirt in the pool after your play hehe.

  5. I think that is highly irregular - a pre-bath??? Gosh - maybe I can send Blueberry over there to set them straight!

Way to turn the water into brown muck! :)

    1. What's worse is that the bath (the one in the bathroom) was an extra long one... She said that I was full of grit... I didn't mind...

  6. That was an impressive amount of dirt you got in the new pool! Well done. But we think a bath afterwards was totally UNFAIR!!!

  13. Dougall mom loved your muddy face pic so much she copied it and e-mailed it to our aunt, granny, granpa and even her boss!

We would love a pool like yours for summer - mom spoke to dad about it but he wasn't convinced. We're going to make him read this post and then maybe he'll change his mind!

No doubt that the bath is the best part. Keep it up!

  17. Nice to meet you! I can see you're a true earthdog, as a terrier should be. It's impressive that you're a waterdog, too!

  18. Dougall, that looks like so much fun! Would you give Cocco a lesson or two about enjoying water? You'd think a pig would like to splash around but he is a scaredy pig!

    1. Hmm, it depends on the context of the water. If it involves a bath and washing, well, I don't much like that either...

  19. I just discovered your blog through Pinterest. I also have a Wheaten Scottie named Dougal! (We only use one l.) We live in Colorado and have two Scotties -- the other one is black. I will keep an eye on your Dougall's adventures. :) Joy

  22. My sweet Dougall dog, you had to get sprayed and then a bath!! The horror, I am so sorry. I do like your pool, it would be fun with no water and just tons of toys.
