So, I’m wheaten...
In colour that is. It’s not the usual Scottie
colour. Most people, when they think of Scottish Terriers they think of Black
ones. Like this guy...
Some people prefer black Scotties, I’m not sure why, I’m
just as (if not more) handsome than a black Scottie.
My human, when she was looking for me was contacted by
my breeder, and she said, my human remembers. “He’ll be wheaten, I hope that’s
okay”. My human said that was fine, a Scottie’s a Scottie after all!!
But,
maybe some people don’t feel that way.
Sometimes people think I’m a westie, which (no offence to
all the westies out there) gets on my nerves! Westies are very white. I’m not.
My human says I’m the colour of a meringue; white down the
bottom, but golden on top.
And you know what?
I think I’m just as sweet as a meringue!
Pft, you are just as handsome if not more handsome than those black scotties Dougall!! And there is no way that you look like a westie, people are just silly! I agree with your Momma, you do look like a meringue! Happy Wednesday! :-D
ReplyDeleteA fuzzy meringue!
DeleteYou don't look like a Westie at all!
ReplyDeleteYour coloring is simply gorgeous! No offense to the black Scotties - but you have to admit, you are unique in being a meringue color!
Unique! I like that!
DeleteDougall, boy your 100% dyed in the wool SCOTTIE, doesn;t matter what they call you. It figures you would be compared to food!!! Heeheehee.
ReplyDeleteYour Furends & Fellow Scotties

Pees; don't know that anybody has come up with a food comparison to black Scotties
Hmmm.... A food for black Scotties... I'll work on that one!
DeleteDo at least miss out on all the 'Ooooo so chumpy you could carve it' in a bad scottish accent like we get!
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
We tried Chum once....we wouldn't eat it!
Hah! I'm glad I don't get those!
DeleteChum is yucky, you girls have good taste, it's bad quality food!
You are Scottie through and through!!
ReplyDeletewags
Jazzi
Sure am!
DeleteKenzie gets the opposite. "OOOOOH, two Scotties, are they calm dogs?". Not Kenzie when someone calls him a Scottie. It's a major accomplishment here when someone recognizes me as a Scottie. I just don't know many others here in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone, Scotties are rare here too.
DeleteWheaten Scotties are Pawsome. My doggie Mom is a Wheaten Scottie. Her name is Scarlet. Somehow I turned out Black. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteI have two black brothers, genetics a crazy!
DeletePlease, you are sweeter than meringue and very handsome and very much a Scottie and who cares what anyone has to say!
ReplyDeleteAlyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
Awww.... shucks!
DeleteOh yes, Dougall, you are a Scottie through and through! You look super sweet in that photo :) And, we get it being annoyed: no offense to you Scotties, but us Schnauzer get mistaken for Scotties all the time and it's annoying that they see a beard and think there is only one type of small dog with a beard!
ReplyDeleteYour furbuddies,
Joules & Prescott
Ahhh!! That must be frustrating!!
DeleteDougall,
ReplyDeleteYou is handsome and fun and our furiend and we luvs da color of your furs!
Woofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae and Max
I think you are a cutie patoootie whatever color you might be!
ReplyDelete(Just don't tell me Floyd is a Golden Retriever, or I give up!!)
Kisses,
Ruby
Bol!! Nope! He's a bouncy boxer, through and through!!
DeleteDougall you and your Mom will be happy to know that you're not alone in people thinking you were a Westie--We had someone ask us if Todd was going to turn black .... And the someone else asked if he was a 'real' Scottie--I didn't get that, because he's always seemed real to me! :-) But I love the Wheaten color and for us, it just means that Todd matches the Goldens, just a little bit and both of you are just as handsome as a black Scottie and much easier to take a picture of!! :-)
ReplyDeleteA "real" Scottie!? Turn black?!
DeleteWhat crazy people!
Dougall, you could be purple and it wouldn't matter to me, I think you are very handsome! I think wheaton Scotties are just as special as black ones. You are special no matter what.
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
Thanks lovely Sasha!
DeleteDougall - my Mum and I think you are just as cute as a button - and VERY MUCH a Scottie! We LOVE your colour... :-)
ReplyDeleteBig WOOFS from Solo! :-)
Thanks!
DeleteHi ya Dougall, it's me Puddles. I has to laugh cuz some hoomans can be such idiots...some ask if I is a chiwawa. I loves your color cuz it not be so common and I loves dat you be different...different is good.
ReplyDeletePuddles
Chiwawa!!! BOL!!
DeleteWell i personally think wheaten Scotties are well better than black Scotties, it adds to the cuteness!!!
ReplyDeleteMilo :)
Cute, that's me!!
DeleteDougall we love your colour and we think you are a handsome wheaten Dawg. Have a terrific Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly

Hello!! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHey Dougall - I (Wallace) am a Wheaten too and I get mistaken for a Westie all the time too! - drives my mom & dad crazy, me...not so much.
ReplyDeleteKeep rockin' your Wheaten ways!
Wally (and Sammy)
Yay! We should start a club, just for wheaties!
DeleteBeing wheaten makes you very distinguished! And will always give you an awesome conversation starter since not too many people know Scotties aren't just black.
ReplyDelete-Erik, Amanda, and Bosley

Distinguished... I like that!
DeleteScottie Scottie Scottie
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Wheaten, wheaten, wheaten...
DeleteWe used to think that all Scotties were black too, Dougall, until we met the Rocky Creek Scotties. We love your Wheaten color! You're so handsome!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Thanks guys!
DeleteDougall we love meringue!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend,
Sweet William The Scot
I haven't ever eaten one... I will need to work on that.
DeleteYou are that sweet! I'm a kind of unusual color for my breed too. When people think of miniature schnauzers they think of salt & pepper coloring, not black.
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
That's true. I think you are the only black Schnauzer I've ever seen. :)
