It was the usual torture... They wet you down, soap you up and then rinse you off.
I've recently discovered though, that I am finally tall enough to jump out of the tub. So, I like to keep her on her toes and when she reaches for the shampoo or the cloth I try to make my escape.
But, she always foils my attempts by closing the bathroom door...
Still not tall enough to operate a door handle...
On the upside, my human has recently discovered a way to make the drying process more enjoyable.
The key ingredient in this method is....
My favourite treat.
She's made the previously unejoyable, torturous towel off into a game. A game which I love.
She throws the towel over me, breaks a Liver Krisp into pieces and hides it under the towel. While I snuffle about, she dries me off.
We both get what we want out of the process. She gets a dry puppy and I get lots of treats. It's a win-win situation.
Boy Dougall, you sure are good at Mom training,

ReplyDeleteOh, what an idea!!! Smart Moms you have. Since I'm gettin' the dreaded B.A.T.H. this weekend (Ma doesn't like to tell me the ACTUAL day, because I might take my backpack and hit the road before she can stop me!), I'm gonna insist that I gets some liver treaties before the towel of death comes towards me!!! ReplyDeleteWally & Sammy
Hehe... We both worked on the idea, it was her idea to get the treats, mine to put them under the towel.
DeleteThe bathroom door is always shut when we're getting a bath too, Dougall. Our moms have the same idea. Wish we got treats like you do!
