Watermelon!

A couple of months ago Kyla suggested that Floyd and I taste green beans, because she (and others) reckon they taste pretty good...

Well, Floyd and I didn't really get it. Sure, they made a nice chewed up mess for the humans to pick up, but we didn't reckon they were all that tasty.

After telling my Uncle Fergus about our green bean adventure (and the results) he suggested we give watermelon a go. Fergus loves his watermelon, and when my human saw some in the shop she decided she bring some home for us.

After the mess we made with the green beans, she decided to take this food tasting experiment outside...

At first I was sceptical... I mean... Where is the MEAT?! But, after giving it a bit of a sniff, and a lick I decided it was actually pretty good!! I liked taking it into the garden best, where I could roll it in the dirt (just like a do with my bones).

Floyd really like it too, but he had to keep an eye on me... For some reason he thought I might sneak in and take his other slices while he was chewing... Floyd also needed a little help eating his (because of his underbite, he had trouble biting bits off).

So, unlike the green beans the watermelon tasting was a huge success. We both loved it and reckon it will go down a treat on a hot summer day!!

Do you have an unusual snack or treat that you really enjoy??

  3. Well, Dougall and Floyd, it looks like watermelon wins hands down! And Dougall, I'm not sure what this is about Floyd thinking you would sneak one of his slices - as if!! One of my favourite things to eat is broccoli - I won't eat it raw, only cooked and I could eat a WHOLE bunch in one sitting if I was allowed. It's about the only healthy thing that I like!

  4. Dougall dirt covered watermelon , nice one! We don't like green things either. I will even pick out peas and throw them all over the kitchen floor. I must get my peeps to try me on some but likewise it would be outside otherwise it may end up in the soft furnishings. Have a terrific Tuesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  9. The green beans cannot come from a can. They must be fresh or flash frozen. I eat them frozen-I also love ice cubes.
